BETA SUPPORT / BUILD 0.143.0

A little help when you need it.

EasyEditor to formatting: After saving your passage edits, open Send to formatting and choose Book Publishing, Essays, Articles, Copywriting, Business Formatting or Screenwriting. Import sends the reviewed working copy directly to that tab. Saved native projects return to their matching tab with their settings. If a document is already open there, save it, replace it or keep it. Your destination is retained in saved reviews and device recovery. English spelling review: Open EasyEditor’s writing preferences and turn on Check English spelling, or try its spelling example. Both US and UK dictionary spellings are accepted. Capitalized words are skipped by default; include them only when needed. Keep this word saves an intentional word to Names & terms to keep and rechecks matching concerns. Dictionaries can miss specialist words and do not check grammar; nothing is replaced automatically. Writing preferences: In Review & edit, open Your writing preferences & style sheet. Choose optional US/UK spelling preferences, save names or terms to keep, and add preferred forms with alternatives to flag. View & edit passage lets you save your own corrections; Keep as written dismisses an intentional choice. These checks are limited consistency aids, not a full spelling or grammar engine. Saved choices stay with review and recovery files. EasyEditor pattern review: choose DOCX, TXT or a saved project in the EasyEditor tab. Open quoted passages, dismiss intentional patterns and save a review project to resume later or download the review report. EasyEditor review projects (.ffeditor) retain your original, working copy, prose-review setting and dismissed suggestions; reopen them in EasyEditor. Review & edit includes chapter navigation and passage search. Choose your editing checks and Page references & PDF are optional tools within the same workspace. You can edit and send the manuscript to Book Publishing without creating a review PDF. Original wording stays available. Save your own passage edits, rerun checks, undo the last edit and download an edited manuscript in its original format. Word objects and control passages stay read-only. The default review checks four repetition patterns. Enable Include prose rhythm suggestions for repeated sentences/phrases, repeated paragraph openings and short paragraph sequences. These are optional writing choices, with earlier wording to compare; it does not yet provide grammar review. Render & verify review proof adds measured page/text-line references in a separate text-review PDF. Those references are not original Word or publishing page numbers, and edits require a fresh proof. These suggestions do not block formatting exports.

Choose the tab for your document, upload your source, review the detected elements, then create a preview. Your words are preserved; the formatter does not write or rewrite your content.

Choose the right workspace

WorkspaceUse it for
Book PublishingFiction and nonfiction interiors, print PDF, editable Word and EPUB. Nonfiction adds three section-heading levels, block quotations, lists and supplied bibliography entries. Supported embedded PNG/JPEG artwork and native notes have dedicated layout checks. Review front matter and chapter openings. Flat book tables with up to eight columns and horizontal merges are supported, with print heading repetition and real Word/EPUB tables. Nested tables, vertical merges and artwork inside cells need a simpler source layout. Oversized print rows need splitting or a wider trim. Recognized numbered contents lists are rebuilt on import from reviewed headings, so original page numbers do not survive repagination. Choose Build contents to identify and replace the old table automatically; keeping supplied contents leaves its numbers unchanged and unverified. Optional rebuilt contents use reviewed chapters and section headings. Print contents numbers form a right-aligned column with dotted leaders and are checked against the text margin. Print numbers match final body pagination; EPUB links have no print numbers. Word contains a native table of contents: update the entire table in Word to calculate its pagination. Rebuilding automatically replaces the identified supplied contents; the original upload stays in the project. Optional Roman front-matter numbering counts title, copyright and blank pages while hiding their numbers. Main text restarts at your chosen Arabic number at the first reviewed Chapter. Review preceding prefaces or forewords as Front matter when needed. Hide page numbers hides both sequences. Supplied index references still need review.
Children’s BooksFirst picture-book profile: import Word DOCX or UTF-8 text, or paste wording per page; attach PNG/JPEG artwork, choose a consistent square/portrait style, then verify and download a fitted-art or full-bleed PDF proof. Saved .ffchildren projects preserve pages and artwork. Review facing pages, low-resolution art and page count. Original uploads are retained in saved projects. Dedicated buttons add separate title, copyright and opening wording pages; supply your own wording. Existing pages are opened for editing, preventing accidental duplicates. Title text is centered and front-page folios are hidden. Explicit breaks preserve page assignments; other paragraphs become draft pages for review. Move illustrations and split pages as needed. Sizes include 6×9, 7×10, 8×8, 8.5×8.5, 8×10 and 8.5×11 inches. Full bleed uses KDP paperback dimensions on all pages, with one full-page illustration per bleed page, crop-position controls, visual guides and safe editable text panels. Fit overrides preserve full illustrations on selected pages. Review image-embedded words and faces after cropping. One wide illustration can also create a linked two-page spread. Shared crop controls, a gutter guide, paired moves/removal and clearly marked alignment blanks keep it on facing pages. Spreads save in projects and export as individual PDF pages. Faces and wording inside artwork need physical-proof review near the binding. Premium-color paperback cover PDFs are available; fixed-layout EPUB remains a future stage.
ScreenwritingScreenplay elements, scene headings, character cues and dialogue. Review uncertain classifications before creating. This profile uses a single dialogue column.
EssaysAPA student, MLA, Chicago/Turabian student and custom layouts. Check assignment details, headings, reference entries and notes against your instructor’s requirements.
Business FormattingLetters, memos, reports, proposals, invoices, forms, business email, agendas and minutes. Supported tables, branding and selected fillable-form exports have their own controls.
CopywritingWeb copy, marketing email, press releases and sales-sheet document handoffs. Exporting does not publish a site, send a campaign or verify claims.
ArticlesNewspaper and magazine submissions or publication layouts with up to three columns. Supported photos, captions, tables and notes can be reviewed in context. Submission output omits photos and discloses that choice.

Save the file you actually need

PDF gives you formatted pages. Word gives you an editable document that may paginate differently in Word. EPUB is for ebook readers. Save project keeps the source and formatting choices for reopening in the matching tab; it is not the finished document. A checks report records verification and review details.

Keep your original document and a saved project before closing or reloading. Work stays in this browser session unless you save it. Reopened projects need a fresh preview and verification; old generated output is not treated as newly verified.

When something goes wrong

My download does not appear

Use Open save window in the save panel, allow popups for this site if prompted, then choose Save file there. Download directly is another option. Check your browser’s download list. “Download requested” is not confirmation that the file was saved; only a completed native file write gets a “Saved” status.

The preview is blank

After creating and verifying the document, use Open PDF preview to view it outside the canvas. For books, check that you selected print or EPUB and created that output. If you changed settings, create a new preview. A display error and a text-integrity error are different: failed integrity verification still blocks the affected export.

An upload failed

Read the error for the unsupported item. Retry with a corrected copy; your current document and available downloads remain when the incoming file fails validation. Supported pictures can be kept through the artwork path. A text-only choice omits graphics, so use it only when those graphics are not needed. The incoming-original download lets you keep the rejected book upload.

My project will not reopen

Use the matching workspace: .ffproject for books, .ffscreenplay for scripts, .ffessay for papers, .ffbusiness for business documents, .ffcopy for copy , .ffarticle for articles and .ffchildren for children’s books. Renaming cannot repair a damaged project. Try a previous saved copy or import the original source again.

I have lots of review suggestions

Required items must be resolved before creation. Other suggestions are advisory and may be acceptable in your document; they do not become download requirements. Follow the paragraph link and check the text in context. Book proof flags suggest pages to look at, while empty spacing paragraphs do not require individual inspection. The formatter does not edit your wording.

Writing autosave and recovery

Use Writing autosave & recovery under the Open/Save writing-project controls to keep EasyEditor and Book Publishing together on this device, including unfinished passage drafts and supported artwork. Refresh recovery copies to choose a saved version. Restoring first saves your current work and requires a fresh render afterward. These copies stay in this browser; download a writing project for a separate backup. Unconnected covers and other formatting tabs keep separate projects. Use Cloud writing project for a private combined save across devices. Cloud uploads are explicit. Opening a cloud copy validates it and backs up current editing/publishing work before replacement.

What verification can tell you

Generated outputs receive applicable text, structure and layout checks. The release checklist reports automated sample coverage, including independent EPUBCheck. These checks do not confirm citation completeness, facts, legal or financial correctness, every publisher’s rules, accessibility certification or retailer acceptance.

Native browser canvas, device downloads, Word pagination and ebook-reader behavior still need hands-on testing. Visually review your final document and use your publisher’s, editor’s or instructor’s instructions when they differ from the defaults.

If you report an issue

Include the workspace, build number, exact error, input file type and the action you took. Say whether a sample works and whether Open PDF preview or the save window works. Keep a screenshot if useful. Share only a copy you are comfortable sharing; remove private information first.

No automatic upload or support submission happens from this guide. Document formatting and generated files run in your browser. Explicit cloud saves store editable project files, and collaboration stores submitted feedback in private cloud storage. Keep your saved copies.

What if feedback fails to send?

Your unfinished feedback stays in the review panel. Retry the same comment, reply or proposal to confirm or finish an unconfirmed submission. While this page stays open, retries use a receipt to avoid duplicate feedback, including after refreshing the review panel. If the panel says the action is saved but its list could not refresh, use Refresh rather than submitting it again. Copy unfinished feedback before closing or reloading the browser.

Published Books

The homepage has a public bookshelf beside the workspace scrolls. A subscriber can publish one title, author name and HTTPS link, then update or remove it. Only information submitted through the book-link form is public. Manuscript projects are separate. Subscription verification is not connected yet, so posting is currently locked. Once enabled, expired subscriptions hide their listing; authors can still remove it.

CoverCraft · book covers

In Choose your cover, expand IngramSpark cover templates for paperback, case-laminate hardcover or a dust jacket. Copy the panel and spine sizes from your official IngramSpark template for this exact trim, page count, paper and binding. Confirm them to download a measured Photoshop guide. Measurements save with your cover project. These guides do not include the official template’s outer margins or certify final CMYK/PDF/X output. The cover designer still uses KDP paperback geometry.

In Add your artwork, separate front/back mode also accepts spine artwork. Its crop slider moves the image left/right within the calculated narrow spine. Editable spine wording sits above it. Full-wrap mode uses the spine already in that wrap; your separate images remain saved.

Download cover template PDF gives you a blank guide using the selected trim, paper and printed page count. You can download it before adding wording or artwork. In Photoshop, import the full Media Box at 300 pixels/inch, keep the guide on its own layer, and hide or remove that layer before exporting finished artwork. Keep the canvas dimensions unchanged.

Render and verify your print interior in Book Publishing, then open CoverCraft and choose Use formatted book. Add your artwork and wording, review the live design, and create a fresh cover proof. A changed book requires refreshed measurements. Low-resolution art or text overflow gives a correction to make before print export.

Save cover project keeps a portable .ffcover copy. A connected design is also included in the Book Publishing project. Create an ebook image and send it to Book Publishing before rebuilding the EPUB. Source colors are retained; review KDP Print Previewer and a physical proof. Native browser canvas, JPEG conversion and device downloads remain manual checks.

Optional grammar & dialogue checks

In EasyEditor → Review & edit → Your writing preferences, turn on common modal-verb mistakes or dialogue punctuation independently. Try the example, open an exact passage, then save your own edit or Keep as written. These checks do not change words or block formatting exports.

Only selected English constructions and paired double-quote speech tags are checked. Spoken dialect, single-quoted dialogue, ambiguous quotes, marked code/quotations, headings, protected passages and screenplays have conservative exclusions. Full grammar and semantic analysis are still pending. A verified original PDF or a current review proof supplies measured page and line references.

See what EasyEditor checks

Open Review & edit → What this review checks for the active settings, whole-manuscript suggestion and kept counts, reviewed-text scope and page-reference policy. Settings buttons take you to the existing control without changing your work. Needs original PDF opens the attachment control.

The guide also lists unfinished coverage. Zero suggestions does not certify an error-free manuscript. Download review notes to retain the same coverage guide with the exact findings. Final formatting pagination still requires the destination proof.

Review long sentences

EasyEditor → Review & edit → Your writing preferences includes an optional sentence-length check. Choose a threshold from 25 to 120 words, or try the example. Findings show the exact complete sentence and its word count. Keep intentional wording or save your own edit. Length does not establish a run-on or grammar error; quoted/protected content and screenplays have conservative exclusions.

Start with a review profile

EasyEditor → Review & edit → Start with a review profile offers Core checks, Document essentials and Story & dialogue. Read the description, then Apply. Profiles retain your names, style rules, spelling preference, capitalization, sentence threshold and original-PDF setting. Save or clear preference drafts and save/cancel passage edits first. Failed dictionary loading retains your previous settings. Individual check changes show Custom checks; saved projects retain the actual options.
